Charlotte Shade, Mediator

If you've got a dispute that you can't resolve, and you want to avoid taking legal action, Charlotte can assist you through a mediation process, including:

- Pre-meetings with participants individually to work out whether mediation is right for you and your dispute.

- Facilitated, face-to-face mediation in a flexible format that works for all participants.

- Where resolution is reached, Charlotte can help you draft an agreement between the participants.

- Where resolution isn't reached, Charlotte can give you options as to the next steps towards resolving your dispute.

Charlotte charges a private hourly rate of $200 per hour plus GST for providing mediation services.

What is mediation?

Mediation is an informal, fast and highly effective process used to resolve a wide range of disputes including in business, family, your workplace, and your community.

Mediation is essentially a facilitated conversation where all the disputed issues are explored by the participants, and options to resolve each issue are developed by and agreed upon by the participants.

A mediator sets guidelines for the conversation, assists in making the process fair, and manages interactions between the participants so that the discussion is respectful.

A mediator does not give advice and they do not decide who is right or wrong, take sides, or make a decision about the outcome. It is the participants who decide the outcome.

Mediation discussions and outcomes are usually confidential, depending on what the participants agree.

Agreements can be legally binding depending on what the matter is and what the participants decide.

Does mediation sound like it might be right for you?
